To promote and celebrate the arts in Plainfield -  highlighting its variety, multiculturalism, and rich historical legacy;  and, to support community growth and engagement through arts and culture.

Latino Festival

Saturday October 12th, Noon to 6:00 PM


This is celebration of Latino cultural heritage has been organized by the Plainfield Board of Education for the last five years.  It showcases performances by students of all Plainfield schools as well as community dance and musical groups.  The Arts Council  is  co-sponsoring this and encouraging Latino businesses to support the event.  This year local latino restaurants will serve their tasty specialties.

We Are Plainfield Concert

November 2nd, 2019, 4:00 PM

As part of Plainfield's Bi-Centennial celebration this concert will bring together the diverse talent one stage at one concert .  Stepanie Minatee who is organizing this event,  is the artistic director of the Grammy-Award winning choir, Jubilation.  

Auditions

As noted in the flyer above there are three sessions of auditions at the Plainfield High School.  All ages and genres of musical are encouraged to audition.

October 25th and 26th, 2019

This is the  second year festival of films by developing and independent filmmakers.  There will be nineteen films shown over a two day period at two venues.   The festival will  include production workshops and meet and greets with the film's creators.  An awards ceremony will take place on the second day the beautiful new Cinemark theater in Scotch Plains.  The Plainfield Arts Council solutes the efforts of Lamar Mackson and the Queen City Film and Television Workshop  for bringing this exciting cultural event to Plainfield.
